What Causes Arthritis?
Joint pain is one of the most common symptoms of arthritis and can affect every joint in the body! Joint pain can lead to stiffness, and stiffness can lead to dysfunctional movement patterns that reduce your mobility. When you come to Kinach Chiropractic, Dr. Andrew will complete a comprehensive exam to make sure chiropractic care will help your specific case. This is because there are many types of arthritis. If you are suffering from Rheumatoid, Psoriatic, or Ankylosing Spondylitis, it is best to consult your primary physician before starting chiropractic treatment to rule out potential underlying factors that limit how we can treat your specific case.
What Causes Osteoarthritis?
Have you ever heard someone say, "My joints are bone on bone"? That is osteoarthritis. It is also known as "wear and tear" arthritis, which means that it is quite hard to avoid! It is the most common arthritis, often found in the hands, hips, and knees. According to the CDC, osteoarthritis occurs when the cartilage in the joint begins to break down and the underlying bone begins to change. These changes can get so severe that some people lose the function of their joints to complete daily tasks.
How Can Chiropractic Care Help Arthritis?
Chiropractic care is helpful when dealing with arthritis because chiropractic adjustments can help increase joint mobility and decrease the amount of pain and stiffness! Still difficult to treat due to its hereditary nature, our goal at Kinach Chiropractic is to help maintain joint integrity and slow the progression of symptoms. When dealing with Osteoarthritis, the best way to treat and decrease the speed of the onset is to keep the joints moving. When we stop using our joints, that is when arthritis will increase and continually decrease our range of motion until the joint is fused!
