What Causes Shoulder Pain?

There are many reasons why your shoulder could be causing you pain. It is the most mobile joint in the body and is surrounded by muscles, nerves, bursae, and the labrum. For this reason, we can all agree that not all shoulder pain is the same! At Kinach Chiropractic, Dr. Andrew takes the time to properly assess the shoulder to understand what the root cause of your pain is and provide a specific treatment plan to your needs.

Shoulder impingement is when the rotator cuff muscles are getting pinched between the humerus (arm bone) and the shoulder blade. As it continues to be pinched and rubbed, the muscle begins to get inflamed and swell, decreasing the space further and causing more irritation and pain. Overhead movements become difficult at first, then all movements of the shoulder as time goes on without treatment.

How Can Chiropractic Care Help Shoulder Impingment?

Chiropractic care can help shoulder impingement by focusing on shoulder movement and the shoulder muscles. At Kinach Chiropractic in Excelsior, MN, we have the tools to assess the shoulder to understand movement dysfunctions and the tools to work on sore, tight muscles to get you feeling better! Remember, not all shoulder pain is the same, so not all treatment is going to be the same either. We create a rehab program designed for you specifically to target your pain and goals of care!

What To Expect For Treatment?

  • Chiropractic adjustments to the neck and upper back when warranted
  • Extremity adjustments to the shoulder and arm when warranted
  • Manual Muscle Therapy to the muscles surrounding the shoulder
  • Corrective Exercises to the shoulder to help prevent future injuries.
