What Causes Tendinitis?
This is a general term for any tendon that is getting irritated. While some have their own names, like Golfer's Elbow or Jumper's Knee, other less common areas do not. Tendinitis can happen in any tendon in the body, often associated with the overuse of a certain muscle due to some sort of compensation. At Kinach Chiropractic, Dr. Andrew is specifically trained to figure out why you are having tendinitis, where the compensation is happening, and provide treatment to get you back to your best.
Some common symptoms of Tendinits are:
-
Pain with movement, often described as dull or achy
-
Mild swelling due to inflammation
-
Tenderness over the affected area
How Can Chiropractic Care Help Tendinitis?
Chiropractic care is helpful when dealing with all types of tendinitis. This is because treating the reason for tendinitis is the quickest way to reduce its symptoms. This means focused therapy on the soft tissues involved and the retraining of proper movement patterns to promote better posture during activity.
What To Expect For Treatment?
-
Chiropractic adjustments if warranted
-
Manual Muscle Therapy to help relax overused muscles surrounding the affected area
-
Corrective Exercises aimed towards decreasing muscle imbalance in order to prevent it from happening again
